Popcorn Almond Brittle Recipe

    6 glasses jumped popcorn
    1 cup slivered almonds
    1/2 cup each red and green candied cherries, choppes
    1-1/2 glasses sugar
    1/2 cup maize syrup
    1/2 cup water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tbsps butter
    1 tsp. vanilla flavor extract


    In a oiled 13-in. x 9-in. cooking pan, merge the snacks, nuts and cherries. Prepare at 350° for 10 minutes. Turn range off and keep combination warm in the range.
    Meanwhile, in a large heavy pot, merge the glucose, maize syrup, the water and salt; prepare and mix over low warm until glucose is demolished. Cook over method warm, without mixing, until a sweets heat range gauge flows 305°-310° (hard-crack stage).
