Nutty Chocolate Caramels Recipe

    2 tsp plus 1/4 cup butter, divided
    3/4 cup light maize syrup
    1/4 cup cold water
    1-1/2 glasses sugar
    3 oz. semisweet candy, chopped
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 cup half-and-half cream
    2 tsp vanilla flavor extract
    1 cup sliced walnuts


    Line an 8-in. rectangle pan with aluminum foil. Oil with 1 tsp. butter; set aside. Butter the edges of a heavy pot with 1 tsp. butter; add the maize syrup, the water, glucose, candy, salt and staying butter. Prepare and mix over method warm until sleek and combined, about 6 moments.
    Progressively mix in lotion. Prepare and mix until a sweets temperature gauge flows 245° (firm-ball stage), about 25 moments. Eliminate from the heat; mix in vanilla flavor and peanuts. Add into prepared pan.
