English Toffee Bars Recipe
Fulfill the Cook: My mom and I get together every season around Christmastime to create this delightful chocolate-coated toffee, using a formula she got decades ago in a food preparation category. It's a custom I strategy to proceed with my children and grand kids. Our family members and buddies hang on with lips irrigating for their offers. -Dianne Streams, Augusta, Kansas

Ingredients

    1 tbsp plus 1-3/4 glasses butter, melted, divided
    2 glasses sugar
    1 tbsp light maize syrup
    1 cup sliced pecans
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 lb dairy products candy sweet covering, coarsely chopped

Directions

    Butter a 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. pan with 1 tbsp butter; set abaye. In a heavy 3-qt. pot, liquefy the staying butter. Add glucose and maize syrup; prepare and mix over method warm until a sweets warm range gauge flows 295° (soft-crack stage). Eliminate from the heat; mix in pecans and salt.
    Quickly add into prepared pan. Let take a position for 5 minutes. Using a distinct blade, score into lines. Let take a position at 70 degrees until cool.
