Candied Lilacs Recipe
These wonderful blossoms can be had either simply or they can be used to beautify a dessert or desserts. They look elegant and will create any dessert stylish.—Taste of House Analyze Kitchen, Greendale, Wisconsin


    1 cup sugar
    1/2 cup water
    Individual lilac blossoms, arises removed
    Perfectly white sugar


    In a pot, merge glucose and the water. Prepare and mix over method warm until a sweets temperature gauge flows 220°. Eliminate from the heat; cool to 70 degrees. Using a forceps, dip lilac petals and leaves into the syrup, trembling off excess; dip into fine glucose. Place lilacs on sugar-coated wax paper for 4 hours or until dry, switching sometimes. Store discovered. Yield: about 3/4 cup syrup.
